A two time world record holder and Yale University graduate, Colin O’Brady has spent the last decade as a professional endurance athlete. Shortly after college graduation while in Thailand, Colin suffered a tragic accident and was severely burned in a fire. His injuries covered nearly 25% of his body, primarily damaging his legs and feet. Doctors warned him he might never walk again normally, but Colin was determined to beat the odds. Just 18 months after the tragedy Colin won the Chicago Triathlon (his first triathlon race ever) paving the way for him to pivot away from his Wall Street career and become a professional athlete. With a passion for pushing his body and exploring perceived limits, Colin took on an extraordinary mission. On May 27th, 2016 with his project BEYOND 7/2 Colin conquered the speed records for the Explorers Grand Slam and Seven Summits; a global mountaineering challenge which includes climbing the tallest mountain on each continent and trekking to the North and South Poles. Colin’s story has been featured by many large media outlets including CBS Sunday Morning, The Washington Post, Huffington Post, Vice, Men’s Journal, Outside Magazine, People.com, and TODAY. He is a sought after public speaker and has been invited to share his story on the TEDx stage as well as with many corporate audiences such as NIKE, Google, P&G, Wells Fargo and more. Colin uses his public platform for charitable good to inspire kids and their communities to dream big and set goals, while promoting the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle to achieve happiness and success.
